The US and Israeli air forces conduct an air drill simulating strikes on the Iranian nuclear program, Israeli media reported late Monday.

The 3-day aerial training includes long-range flights which are being conducted over Israel and the Mediterranean Sea, according to The Jerusalem Post newspaper.

Last week Iran announced that it started enriching uranium to 60% purity at Fordow nuclear plant by using IR-6 advanced centrifuges.

Iran's state-run IRNA news agency reported: “In a letter to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has informed the agency that it has started enriching uranium to 60% purity at Fordow site using IR-6 advanced centrifuges.”

The reports indicate that Iran’s nuclear program has reached the point at which, within a few months, the country could enrich enough uranium for five fission weapons.

The newspaper also reported Israeli Army Chief Aviv Kohavi saying last week that Israel and the US are operating together “on all fronts to gather intelligence, neutralize threats, and prepare for various scenarios in either one or multiple arenas.”
